WE want to thank Joe McLain for 10 years working with EPIC Football Camps

A new QB Coach will be introduced in 2024 and beyond.!!

Joe McLain, a Chadron native and arguably one of the best quarterbacks Chadron State has ever produced, coached 4 seasons as an assistant coach at Chadron State College.  McLain's receivers had a stellar season in 2012, catching the second-most (250) passes in school history. That success continued in 2013 when CSC receivers combined to grab 278 balls.

McLain had a fantastic career for the Eagles. He went 38-4 during four years as the starting quarterback and helped lead CSC to the national playoffs three straight seasons. Two of his four losses occurred in the playoffs.
As a junior in 2007, McLain shared the team's MVP award with Danny Woodhead. As a senior in 2008, he was named the team’s MVP, the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Player of the Year and the RMAC All-Academic Player of the Year. McLain was also a regional finalist for the Harlon Hill and he was became the sixth athlete in school history to be named the Omaha World Herald’s Male College Athlete of the Year.

McLain finished his career with 8,011 passing yards and 70 touchdowns. He added 707 more yards and 17 touchdowns on the ground. As a professional, he played one season (2011) in the Indoor Football League for the Wyoming Calvary.  In the summer of 2014, he was placed on the Chadron State College All-Century Football Team.  He was a student assistant coach at Douglas High in 2009 and coached the Chadron American Legion team for several seasons. He also was an infielder in 2010 at Mayville State University in North Dakota, helping lead the Comets to a conference title.

He graduated from Chadron State with a degree in math education in 2009 and also earned a graduate degree from the school. Joe McLain joined  the BUENA VISTA University football coaching staff in 2018 and served as the team's offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach.   Joe McLain will be joining WESTERN STATE as the Quarterbacks Coach and Offensive Coordinator in 2019.  Coach McLain continues his success headed into the next season.
